This Tatooine Sunset is a cool and refreshing drink inspired by a beverage served at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World. It comes together in moments and is perfectly sweet with zippy notes of citrus.
Everyone in my family is a pretty big Star Wars fan. During the holidays we make Baby Yoda Blue Sugar Cookies, and when my kiddo was little one of their favorite drinks was Blue Bantha Milk. So of course, when we heard about a popular drink at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World, we had to give it a try. The name of this drink? The Tatooine Sunset.
The name alone would be enough to inspire me to try this drink, but turns out it’s also super refreshing! I adjusted the recipe a bit to suit our tastes, reducing the amount of blueberry syrup and increasing the amount of lemonade. This one is going to be on repeat all summer for sure.

What is a Tatooine Sunset?
A Tatooine sunset is a beverage that, in the Star Wars universe, was made with fermented fruit and tea. Named after the beautiful sunsets on the planet Tatooine, it was one of the most popular drinks served at Chalmun’s Spaceport Cantina in the city of Mos Eisley. It was also one of the signature drinks made by Bakkar, a butcher from Tatooine and the owner of Ronto Roaster’s.
The Tatooine sunset was first mentioned in 2015 in connection to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World. The menu description says it is made with Gold Peak Unsweetened Tea and Minute Maid Lemonade with hints of blueberry and melon.
Is This Star Wars Drink Good?
Yes, this is a very tasty drink! This Tatooine Sunset tastes like sweetened iced tea with citrusy notes, similar to an Arnold Palmer. However, the lemony flavor is less pronounced in a Tatooine Sunset because the ratio of iced tea to lemonade is not the same as in an Arnold Palmer.
In addition, this Tatooine Sunset has hints of blueberry and melon from the two syrups that are added to the drink. You don’t need much of each, the syrups have fairly strong flavors, but the fruity notes are essential to capturing the essence of this Star Wars drink.
