Pomegranate Margarita

Two pomegranate margaritas next to sliced open pomegranate pieces

This pomegranate margarita is sweetened with maple syrup and has an irresistible salty-sweet rim. A few pomegranate arils are added for garnish. This gorgeous red cocktail is one of my favorite autumn sips

Ingredients

For the Salty-Sweet Rim:

  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar

For the Margarita

  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 3 ounces pomegranate juice
  • 3/4 ounce triple sec
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Ice
  • Pomegranate arils (optional, to garnish)
  • Lime wedge (optional, to garnish)

Instructions

Salt the Rim. Combine the salt and sugar on a shallow plate. Run a lime wedge along the rim of your margarita glass to wet it, then invert the glass into the salty-sweet mixture to coat the rim. Set the glass aside.

Combine the cocktail ingredients. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the lime juice, tequila, pomegranate juice, triple sec, and maple syrup to the shaker. Cover and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.

Serve. Strain the margarita into your serving glass, being careful not to pour the liquid onto your salted rim.
